If the thought of a traditional wedding fills you with dread then this colourful boho tipi wedding is just for you!
You don’t normally mix colourful and bohemian together but this blog will show you just how well mixing such contrasting styles can work. I’m talking pom poms mixed with a floaty lacey dress, Llamas and embroidered romany cushions matched back with hits of neon in dried flowers exploding all over the gorgeous tipi wedding venue. Here are my tips for how to put this unusual combination together to get the most amazingly unique wedding style.
Colourful explosion, how to add colour to a boho vibe wedding
Be bold. I don’t mean add in all the colour everywhere, but instead keep the base neutral. White, ivory or cream based decor will be the soft layer to keep the bohemian look still strong. Add in layers of colour with your decorations, paper tassels, pom poms, stationery and flowers and build the colours up.
The minimilistic decorated natural wooden tables are the perfect setting for the Romany inspired cotton napkins and crochet table runners. Both have lovely delicate fringe edging with really softens the table look. The decor was intentionally kept low level so the eye is drawn to the small (and large) details. The hanging dried flower instilation takes centre stage of this beautiful wedding tipi.
How to dress for a colourful boho wedding
Keep the dress floaty and detailed, without any embellishment. The layered design of this dress is so bohemian, so floaty and so softly detailed. The simple yet intricate design of the lace is so beautiful on these wide draping sleeves. I love the clean neckline and how it is elevated with the addition of bright coloured neon earings and dried flower bouquet.
Adding long neon pompom tassel earings to a gorgeous dress is such a cute way to include colour and personality without being too much.
Colourful wedding stationery that will wow your guests and set the tone for your outdoor wedding.
I tried to keep the stationery bright and colourful but with a light base colour so the colours weren’t over powering, inlcuding a Romany design element and coloured tassels finishes it off. With all the delicate hits of bright neon colours, I designed this to be a fun alternative to the traditional wedding stationery. The Romany design flows through all the wedding invitations & wedding day stationery, rather than adding colour with bright envelopes, I chose to add a delicate envelope liner to carry the design elements through. Adding a bright coloured envelope would make this wedding invitation suite look even more impactful!
How to entertain your guests at your tipi wedding
Outdoor weddings, expecially tipi wedding venues usually come with a fair bit of outdoor space, so why not use it to help your guests pass some time while you are having photos, or have some fun over canapes and fizz. Outdoor games are always a hit at weddings, giant connect-4, space hoppersm llamas… time flies when you’re having fun!
So what do you think? Love it or hate it? Are you going bright details or keeping it simple?
